In 2019, I was nominated for the Simply Wedding awards for my category of Bridal Makeup. I had to receive so many votes to be put forward to the finalist stage, all of which were being voted for by brides, grooms and clients from weddings I had covered that year.
After reaching the finalist stage, I was invited to a ceremony meal where the winners would be announced throughout several services within the wedding industry.
I had a wonderful meal sat down with some lovely friends who I have connected with since my time within the industry.
Then came the awards ceremony itself.
I was up against a lot of other talented makeup artists throughout Cornwall, and to my amazement, it was announced that I had won within my category.
I was so nervous going up to the stage to collect my award and I was genuinely so honoured I had won. It was the best feeling.
To be officially recognised for doing something I love and achieving an award was really a dream come true.
To help me achieve the award, past brides had to vote for me but also provide feedback as to why they thought I should win overall.
I was absolutely blown away by the amount of comments I had received and here are some of those lovely comments:
